Avi Abrams
Class of 2028
Avi entered medical school after earning bachelor’s degrees in Talmudic Law from Ner Israel Rabbinical College and in Medical Humanities from Stevenson University. He is passionate about integrating his background in ethics and law into his medical education, with the goal of better serving the needs of his future patients. Outside of the library and clinic, Avi devotes himself to his greatest calling—spending time with his wife and children
He was drawn to GW for its commitment to a strong scientific foundation while also emphasizing the many dimensions of physician life—leadership, service, and community engagement. The unique integration of education, health policy, and public service creates a well-rounded training environment that aligns with his vision of becoming a community-centered physician. He is especially excited about the opportunity to train at LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, where he grew up, and to give back to a community that shaped him. The ability to be part of a smaller, close-knit cohort within a larger class strikes the perfect balance, offering both meaningful relationships and the diversity of experience that comes with a large academic community.
