Information and Minimum Requirements
As program directors or residency coordinators, the following information will be helpful.
Annual Summative Evaluation
At least annually, there must be a summative evaluation of each resident that includes their readiness to progress to the next year of the training program. Program Directors must provide residents with a copy of the signed document and place a copy in the resident file.
Program directors must provide a written summative evaluation for each resident who completes the program, which must document the resident's performance during the final period of education including Milestone data, and must verify that the resident has demonstrated sufficient competence to enter practice without direct supervision. This final evaluation will be part of the resident's permanent record maintained by the institution.
