Donald H. Glew Prize

The Donald H. Glew Prize is awarded every year to the medical student with the best abstract  and poster presentation at Medical Student Research Day.  This endowment was established by William B. Glew, MD '53 as memorial to his brother, Dr. Donald H. Glew, MD, a graduate of the MD Class of 1948.

This year’s awardee is Maria Abigail Cerezo, for her abstract entitled, “ Improving the Quality of Diabetes Care in a Student Run Free Clinic ”.

Maria’s mentor for this project was Dr. Maria Portela who is Chief of the Family Medicine Section within the Department of Emergency Medicine at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
