Once you’ve identified a faculty research mentor, consider writing for support. Most fellowship applications for MD student summer support are due in the preceding January-March.
You are encouraged to apply to multiple funding sources for a summer fellowship, such as external professional associations as well as internal GW WT Gill or Health Services Fellowships. This increases the likelihood you will receive a competitive fellowship, since no single source is guaranteed.
