GW SMHS Research Showcase 2026

GW SMHS Research Showcase 2026 is a live, in-person event featuring poster sessions, presentations from a distinguished plenary speaker, and selected student oral presentations of their work.

2026 SMHS Research Showcase Schedule
When: April 29th, 2026
Where: University Student Center 3rd Floor

The SMHS Research Showcase is designed to highlight the breadth of research and scholarly activity that students have accomplished during their education at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Students are invited to present research regardless of the area of focus. Abstract submissions represent a broad range of research interests and disciplines, including basic and translational science, clinical research, health policy and public health research, and education-related research. If you have submitted an abstract for presentation, your next steps are to:
1. Everyone must prepare a poster for printing (instructions below).
2. If you are being adjudicated for a prize, you must update your GWeb information (address, contact info, etc.) in case you are selected.
- You must remain by your poster during the relevant session for adjudication. Not being present for judging can lead to disqualification.
- Final prizes will be decided during the showcase. Winners will be notified after the event by email.

Poster Printing Instructions

To Request Free Poster Printing from Gelman Library:

  • Download the “SMHS Poster Template” from Himmelfarb here: Poster Design & Layout.
  • Create your poster, save as JPEG/JPG file.
  • Request free poster printing from Gelman Library using this form.
  • Select size 48" x 36" for printing.
  • Submit your printing request by April 16th!

Be sure to submit your poster to Gelman Library early since they can get overrun with requests as the showcase nears.
