Awards
- Distinguished Service Award (DSA)

The DSA is given to a faculty member or a group who has demonstrated exceptional service and citizenship to the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) community and/or the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
- Distinguished Teacher Awards (DTA)

The DTA honors faculty members who, in their teaching activities, demonstrate exceptional ability in all the following five areas:
- Communicating information to advance learning,
- Inspiring, motivating, and stimulating learners,
- Being innovative in their teaching,
- Demonstrating a sustained commitment as an educator, and
- Establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Inclusive Excellence Faculty Award (IEA)

The IEA recognizes a member of the GW SMHS faculty who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to fostering an academic and clinical environment that values and engages the full diversity of our community, ensuring all members—students, faculty, and staff—have equitable opportunities to participate, thrive, and lead.
Eligibility
- All faculty members in the SMHS who have held an appointment for a minimum of five years are eligible.
- For the DTA, nominees cannot have previously received the award.
