Aisha Liferidge, MD, MPH, was appointed to the board of directors for the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Maura Polanski, PA-C, MS, MHPE, was named chair and associate professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Sangeeta, Ramesh, Asha. Those are names of children whose lives were restored thanks to Brandon Kohrt, MD, PhD, RESD ’13, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences. Kohrt told their stories at his installment as the Charles and Sonia Akman Professor in Global Psychiatry.

Helen Burstin, MD, MPH, associate clinical professor of medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, was named the executive vice president and CEO for the Council of Medical Specialty Societies.

Sharad Goyal, MD, professor of radiology at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and chief of the Division of Radiation Oncology at GW Hospital, on receiving the 2017 Health Policy Fellowship from the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

James Gehring, MD, assistant professor of medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, was elected to the board of directors of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

The GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences is pleased to announce that Tracy Church, MBA, CPA, will serve as the executive director of development and alumni relations.

Eric Vilain, MD, PhD, will serve as chair and professor of the newly re-named Department of Genomics and Precision Medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and Children’s National Health System.

Alison K. Hall, PhD, is the new associate dean for research workforce development at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
