In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that I share with you news of the passing of Thomas Piemme, MD, Professor Emeritus of Health Care Sciences at the George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS).

Friend, alumnus, and colleague Carlos Silva, MD ’60, RESD ’66, passed away on Oct. 13, 2019.

Luther W. Brady, a George Washington University triple alumnus, trustee emeritus, world-renowned radiation oncologist and passionate advocate for the arts, died Friday. He was 92.

Fred M. Gordin, MD, professor of medicine and senior scientist of clinical and population sciences at the District of Columbia Center for AIDS Research, passed away at age 66 after a four-year battle with lung cancer.

The GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) mourns the passing of beloved former dean and professor emeritus, Robert I. Keimowitz, M.D.

Renowned GW SMHS faculty member and leader in pediatric surgery, Judson G. Randolph, MD, passed away on May 17, 2015 in Nashville, TN at the age of 87.

It is with great sorrow that the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences announces the passing of Hugo V. Rizzoli, M.D., Professor Emeritus in the Department of Neurological Surgery.

Our community remembers Navdeep Kang, a fourth-year medical student, class of 2015. The SMHS community is invited to gather today from 4-6 p.m. in the Weingold Conference Room on the 7th floor of Ross Hall for support and to remember Nav.
