The GW Rodham Institute now serves as the home of the Maryland Regional Direct Services Collaborative. This new partnership greatly expands and strengthens its ability toward assuring the availability of well-trained direct services workforce throughout Washington, D.C., and Maryland. 

The theme of this year’s Rodham Institute Summit was “Building and Strengthening Resilience in Our Community.” The summit’s message was reflected by keynote speaker Hillary Rodham Clinton, former senator and secretary of state.

Jehan “Gigi” El-Bayoumi, MD, executive director of the Rodham Institute and professor of medicine and of prevention and community health, was interviewed by NBC4 about the Rodham Institute and it's role in the Washington, D.C.

This year's Rodham Institute Teach-in highlighted issues through storytelling: videos, panels, and question-and-answer sessions.

The role of youth in their health and the health of their communities was the theme of the 4th Annual Rodham Institute Summit. Community leaders, clinicians and students presenting at the day-long event emphasized how to engage and lift up young people living in underserved areas.

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences to support Upward Bound and the Health Education Leadership Program at the Rodham Institute. 

Discussion focused on childhood obesity, mental health care, and the value of partnerships.
