The SMHS Office of Communications and Marketing Team Starts 2017 with Five Awards

The George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) Office of Communications and Marketing has kicked off 2017 with five Hermes Creative Awards.

Medicine + Health, the official SMHS biannual magazine showcasing the clinical and research expertise of SMHS faculty, residents, students, and alumni, won two honorable mentions, one in the magazine category, the second for overall publication writing.

Neurotransmitter, a joint publication highlighting the neurology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery interests of SMHS research institutes and GW clinical partners, earned gold in the magazine category.

In the platinum category were re:imagine, the inaugural issue of the GW Cancer Center, and the SMHS 2017 Progress Report.

The Hermes Creative Awards, an international competitive for creative professionals, focuses on the concept, design, and writing of print, audio, and visual material as well as marketing and communications programs. Entrants ranged from graphic design shops and freelancers to corporate marketing and communication departments and advertising agencies.

Last year, Medicine + Health, Neurotransmitter, the SMHS Progress Report, and Cuentos, the humanities magazine produced every summer by the internal medicine residents at SMHS and the GW Medical Faculty Associates, tallied awards from Hermes, the MarCom Awards, and the Mercury Excellence Awards.
