The SMHS Office of Communications and Marketing Team Brings 2016 Awards Total to Seven

The GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) Office of Communications and Marketing recently won four new awards, bringing its 2016 total to seven.

In the 2016 MarCom Awards, sponsored by the Association for Marketing and Communication Professionals, Medicine + Health received two gold awards for its spring 2016 issue, while the 2015-2016 SMHS Annual Report won a platinum award.

Earlier this year, Medicine + Health, the official SMHS biannual magazine showcasing the clinical and research expertise of SMHS faculty, residents, students, and alumni, won a bronze award in the Mercury Excellence Awards, as well as a gold award in the Hermes Creative Awards.

Neurotransmitter, a joint publication highlighting the neurology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery interests of SMHS research institutes and GW clinical partners, also won gold in the Hermes Creative Awards.

The SMHS Annual Report, in addition to its 2016 MarCom Award, was recognized as an “honors” recipient in the Arc Awards International competition.

Last year, Medicine + Health won a gold prize, while Neurotransmitter won platinum in the MarCom Awards. Cuentos, the humanities magazine produced annually by the internal medicine residents at SMHS and the GW Medical Faculty Associates, received an honorable mention.
