Jesse Pines, M.D., associate professor of emergency medicine, was featured in a HealthDay News article, picked up by Health magazine and Philly.com, for recently published research finding that the number of U.S. patients admitted to hospitals’ intensive care units after spending time in an emergency room has increased by nearly 50 percent. The research was published in the May issue of the journal Academic Emergency Medicine.
