Dr. Massiah's lab employs multi-dimensional Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and other biophysical techniques to characterize the structures of proteins, and to probe the protein-drug and protein-protein interactions.
Her current projects include assessments of personality, temperament, and genetic makeup, as well as parenting behaviors and conflict between caregivers.
My research has focused on the pathological significance of the impaired gut-fat axis in IBD. Using mouse models, human organoids, and adipose stem cell cultures, I have been investigating the molecular “crosstalk” between mesenteric fat and intestinal inflammation in IBD.
Current projects include application of ultrasound to enhance ocular drug delivery, focused ultrasound treatment of tumors, studies of safety of therapeutic ultrasound applications, and ultrasound application for functional modification of cells such as pancreatic beta cells.
Dr. Robien's group is currently studying the extent to which dietary exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (especially bisphenols and phthalates) is associated with doxorubicin resistance among women with triple negative breast cancer, as well as the effect of body composition (lean body mass…
His research interests include the design, monitoring, analyses, and reporting of clinical trials.
Her recent work has focused on the effects of demographic, traditional, and diabetes-related risk factors on the risk of micro- and macrovascular disease in type 1 and 2 diabetes and the extent to which these factors co-progress over time, employing various longitudinal and survival modeling…
Clinical outcomes research in general and colorectal surgery, frailty and geriatric surgery
Dr. Meany's clinical research is focused on phase I clinical trials and pharmacology in the development of new agents for treating pediatric cancers.
Research combines creative molecular design with robust organic synthesis methodology to generate libraries of highly functionalized and topologically unique structures that are employed to rapidly identify structure-function relationships and reveal fundamental principles of protein surface…
