A growing number of health care institutions are adopting attitudes and programs integrating spirituality and medicine. Christina Puchalski, M.D. '94, RESD '97, professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, says more research is being done on the role of spirituality in healing and how it can help patients cope with suffering.
