First- and second-year MD students participated in Community Service Day this year. The students worked on crafts for organizations that benefit children and animals.

The 46 students of the new class started the year with orientation before delving into the studies and community service that mark the prestigious program.

Kidney recipient Chadia Yacoubou and kidney donor Claire Merwin met for the first time on Aug. 14. They two represent the 100th kidney exchange through the GW Transplant Institute. 

As the white coat slipped over Charlotte Gopinath’s shoulders, she took the first step to becoming a doctor; with the support of her husband and two daughters, ages 3 and 10 months, it’s a path she won’t embark on alone.
