SMHS Communications and Marketing-Produced Publications Win Awards

Three GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) Office of Communications and Marketing publications recently received several honors, including gold and an honorable mention, in the 2016 Hermes Creative Awards.

Medicine + Health was recognized in the gold and honorable mentions for its spring and fall 2015 issues, respectively. Medicine + Health is the official SMHS biannual magazine that showcases the research and clinical expertise of SMHS faculty, residents, students, and alumni. The spring issue also received a bronze award in the 2015-2016 Mercury Excellence Awards.

Neurotransmitter, a joint publication highlighting the neurology, neuroscience, and neurosurgery interests of SMHS research institutes and GW clinical partners — the George Washington Institute for Neurosciences; the George Washington University Hospital’s Neurological Institute; and the GW Medical Faculty Associates — received gold in the Hermes Creative Awards.

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of marketing and communication programs and print, visual, and audio materials. Entrants ranged from digital creators, graphic design shops, and freelancers to corporate marketing and communication departments and advertising agencies.

The Mercury Excellence Awards promote excellence, quality, and performance in various fields of public relations and celebrate creative professionals whose intelligence, hard work, innovation, creativity, and style have made a different in the industry.

The Office of Communications and Marketing earlier won prizes in the 2015 MarCom Awards.
