GW MFA Health Care Coverage Benefit Puts GW Employees in the Top Tier

The George Washington University (GW) recently added a new coverage tier (Tier 1) within university employee medical plans dedicated to care provided by GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) providers.

The new coverage tier applies to professional charges by GW MFA clinical providers; GW MFA behavioral health providers, however, continue to be out-of-network for the GW medical plans. The benefit means GW employees will pay lower copayments and lower employee coinsurance when they are seen by a GW MFA provider.

A telephone phone number has been established — 202-677-6000 — to provide an easy and convenient pathway for GW employees to access the GW MFA’s network of providers. Patient care coordinators — assigned specifically to GW employees — will be available during normal business hours to answer this dedicated line.

According to an Announcements from the GW MFA, the initiative is a step toward creating better alignment between the university and the GW MFA, with the goal of fostering the health and well-being of the broader GW community.
