Dr. Rachel Brem Recognized by Tigerlily Foundation, Living in Pink for Breast Cancer Contributions

Congratulations to Rachel Brem, M.D., director of the Breast Imaging and Intervention Center, vice chair of radiology, and professor of radiology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, who was recognized by the Tigerlily Foundation and Living in Pink for her contributions to breast cancer care, advocacy, and research.

Brem was presented with the Hope Award at the Tigerlily Foundation’s 5th Annual EmPOWER Ball on Oct. 19. Brem was one of five women honored for making a difference in the world of breast cancer. In addition to Brem, Regina Hampton, M.D., of Signature Breast Care (Transformation Award); Linda Crill, breast cancer survivor and author of Blind Curves (Inspire Award); and dancer, Tiffany Glenn (honored post-humously) (KM Warrior Award), were honored at the event.  Erica Lewis was also honored as Volunteer of the Year. The event, held at the Hilton in McLean, Va., was emceed by WUSA9 Anchor Anita Brikman and ABC7 Anchor Scott Thuman.

Brem was honored at the Living in Pink 10th Annual Luncheon and Boutique on Nov. 1. Held at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C., the luncheon benefited breast cancer research. Pamela Peeke, M.D., M.P.H., chief medical correspondent at Discovery Health Television, was a guest speaker at the event. The emcee for the event was ABC7 Anchor Greta Kreuz.
