Research Interests
Dr. Koch's research focuses on the intersection of the history of science and bioethics, with the goal of better understanding the ethical implications and societal impact of psychological and medical knowledge in the present by examing them in historical context. He has expertise in integrating both historical and philosophical research methods. He is skilled in investigating the history of the patient-provider relationship in psychotherapy and psychiatry, and the history of medication-assisted treatments involving methadone.
