Join members of the George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences Upward Bound program for National TRiO Day 2024. The day commemorates the day passage in 1986 of the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Deficit Reduction Act, threatening the funding for more than 300 universities hosting Student Support Service programs — Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, and Special Services. TRiO program leaders established the day to raise awareness and rally support for the programs designed to increase the retention and graduation rates among participants.
Representatives from GW, Howard University, Morgan State University, and the College Success Foundation will be on hand. This year’s event offers guest he opportunity to participate in various workshops, student led panels, and hear from alumni and TRiO stakeholders on this day.
