Seymour Alpert, MD served The George Washington University for 35 years as a physician, professor, and executive. He passed away on May 20, 2008. Seymour Alpert, MD and his wife Cecile, who passed away in August 2007, had long been supporters of the GW. The “Dr. Seymour Alpert Chair in Anesthesiology,” an endowed fund established in 1983 through the generous donations of colleagues and friends, serves as a permanent tribute to Alpert’s outstanding contributions in the medical field. The “Dr. Seymour Alpert Annual Lecture,” funded by Dr. Alpert and Cecile, furthers their dedication and commitment to the medical profession and to the George Washington University.
