Evaluation

Uniform Clinical Evaluation

Description

Students will have exposure to otoscopic examination of infants and children; understand the management of common middle ear disorders; and learn evaluation of stridor and airway compromise. Also spend time seeing patients getting hearing loss work up and undergoing cochlear implantation process, as well as spend time in craniofacial clinic.

Course Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Recognize the breadth and diversity of pediatric dermatology in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  2. Explain the structure and function of the skin.
  3. Describe dermatologic lesions accurately.
  4. Discuss the etiology, clinical signs and symptoms, epidemiology, diagnostic methods, and management of common congenital and acquired skin diseases.
