Evaluation

Uniform Clinical Evaluation

Description

The student performs as an acting intern on the GWU Hospital’s inpatient psychiatry service, treating patients with acute psychiatric disorders as well as combined medical and psychiatric disorders. The student is expected to have prior psychiatry and internal medicine clerkship experience. The student will have the primary responsibility, acting directly under the attending, for the evaluation and treatment of assigned psychiatric inpatients from admission to discharge. Other responsibilities may include supervision and teaching of third year medical students during their clerkship, attendance at grand rounds and other resident didactics. Required written reports include daily progress notes, admission notes, and discharge summaries.
