Description |
Students will serve as members of the inpatient consultation team. Common conditions encountered include infections in immunocompromised hosts, complex pneumonia, management of bacteremia, musculoskeletal infections, unexplained fever, and tropical diseases. Students will develop increased competence in the appropriate selection and use of antimicrobial agents to treat bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. Students also will participate in the Tuesday afternoon conference series and case discussion session. No weekends or call. Students will interact with pediatric infectious diseases fellows and attendings. Pediatric residents may also be members of the inpatient consult team. If no pediatric residents are members of the team, students will still have an opportunity to interact with residents when relaying consult recommendations and during resident conferences. |
