Students will be contacted by the Friday prior to the start of the rotation for orientation and/or assignments. All rotations will start on Monday (Holidays are the exception) and unless otherwise noted, students are expected to meet with the URO team for AM rounds.

Uniform Clinical Evaluation

Description

Observation of urologic conditions and procedures for diagnosis and treatment; radiologic and pathologic studies, endoscopy and surgery, collateral reading, weekly staff conference. Additional faculty: Dr. Whalen, Dr. Timothy Schneidau, Dr. R. Andrawis, Dr. Daniel Stein, Dr. Robert Dean.

Course Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Explain the presentation of urologic conditions and the differential diagnosis of the presentation.
  2. Practice the evaluation, work-up, and care of urologic conditions.
  3. Perform a comprehensive genitourinary history.
  4. Perform an abdominal, pelvic, rectal, and GU examination.
  5. Perform basic surgical and procedural skills.
