Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser and partnering institution the George Washington University celebrated the conclusion of the city’s inaugural Advanced Internship Program, which provides work opportunities for students eager to build career-ready skills.

SMHS hosts the year-long program, Upward Bound, which provides access and exposure for local high school students who will be the first-generation of college students in their families.
