A new position paper by lead author Philip J. Candilis, MD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at SMHS, examines principles that should guide the health care profession’s response to physician impairment.
For more than 70 years, the James D. Bruce Memorial Award for Distinguished Contributions in Preventive Medicine has been presented by the ACP for contributions in preventative medicine. In 2019, GW's Lawrence “Bopper” Deyton, MD ’85, MSPH, joined the list of award winners.

Patience White, M.A., M.D., co-director of Got Transition and emeritus professor of medicine and of pediatrics, co-led the American College of Physicians Pediatric to Adult Care Transitions Initiative, a project which created guidelines and tools for pediatric-to-adult health care transitions.
