Suzanne Alrutz Named Director of Human Resources at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences

Suzanne Alrutz will serve as the director of human resources (HR) at the George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS). Alrutz assumed this role on January 22, 2018.

Alrutz has extensive experience working in human resources in various industries, including higher education. She served as an HR director at GW for three years, supporting University executives, faculty, regular full- and part-time employees, student- and non-student temporary staff, researchers, librarians, and Division I coaching staff. She previously led HR initiatives for the Bowman Consulting Group.

"Suzanne will provide important leadership and support for the school in recruitment, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, and organizational development," said Walter Harris, MBA, PMP, associate vice president for administration and operations at SMHS. "We are pleased she is joining the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences."

In this role, Alrutz will serve as the senior HR advisor to the SMHS dean and SMHS executive leadership and will provide strategic counsel to ensure that appropriate resources are available to support HR efforts that align with the school's mission and its medical education, research, and related programs.
