New research predicts that the U.S. obesity rate won't level off until it reaches at least 42 percent, in 2050. Scott Kahan, M.D., co-director of The George Washington University Weight Management Center, says that this new research is worthwhile, but should be taken with a grain of salt because the data used to make this prediction was gathered before obesity became a major public health concern.
