Dr. Charles Samenow, assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science in the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, published an op-ed in The Washington Times on hypersexual disorder.

He notes that while the American Psychiatric Association task force is working to decide if hypersexual disorder will be included in the Diagnostical and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), people with these types of disorders find hope and understanding in a diagnosis, as it lets them know they are not alone and there is a treatment that could help them.
