MedPage Today - Patient-Centered Medical Homes Generate Fewer, Cheaper ED Visits

Jesse Pines, M.D., M.B.A., director of the Office for Clinical Practice Innovation, was featured in MedPage Today for his research showing that medical homes can have a positive effect on patients, as far as limiting outpatient emergency department use, but they don’t seem to keep patients from being hospitalized, which is many times more expensive than ER visits. His research was also featured in HealthITAnalytics, Insurance News Net, NewsMax, Medical Xpress, and BenefitsPro.
