Haiti Cholera Cases Expected to Rise

Since the earthquake in Haiti last January, public health experts expected infectious diseases, such as the recent cholera outbreak, to take hold as people worked to rebuild the country. Peter Hotez, M.D., Ph.D., GW Distinguished Research Professor and chair of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Tropical Medicine, says that the fact that it's taken this long for anything to happen is a testament to the quality of work being done in the country.
