GW Department of Dermatology Faculty to Speak at 2017 American Academy of Dermatology Summer Meeting

Faculty from the George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences Department of Dermatology will speak at the 2017 American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Summer Meeting. The meeting will be held July 27-30 in New York, New York.

GW faculty speaking at the conference will participate in the following sessions:

  • Adam Friedman, MD, associate professor of dermatology, will speak at “Symposia 004 – Acne and Rosacea.” The session will cover the latest information on the pathogenesis of acne and rosacea and the treatment options for both conditions. A panel discussion will look at possible treatment of more difficult cases. Friedman will speak about the role of the microbiome in acne and rosacea. (July 27, 1 p.m., Grand Ballroom West)  
  • Terrence Keaney, MD, assistant clinical professor of dermatology and urology, will speak at “Plenary 151 – Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): Hype or Hope?” Keaney’s presentation will explore platelet rich plasma, which has therapeutic modality with clinical applications in orthopedics, dentistry, and wound healing. The presentation will delve further in exploring the possibility of PRP in the future of dermatology. (July 28, 9 a.m., Grand Ballroom East/West)

The 2017 AAD Summer Meeting attracts dermatology experts and decision makers from across the country. AAD meetings offer the latest on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dermatologic disease from the foremost experts in the field.
