GW Cheney Cardiovascular Institute Awards Research Grants to GW Faculty and Fellows

The GW Cheney Cardiovascular Institute has awarded $50,000 in research grants to faculty and fellows for 2011-2012. The 3 awardees are:

  1. Brian Choi, MD Assistant Professor for “Estimation of Pulmonary Vascular Resistance by Contrast Echocardiography”
  2. Palak Shah, MD cardiology fellow and Ramesh Mazhari, MD Assistant Professor for “Novel Use of Epigenomics to Predict Outcome in Patients Receiving Left Ventricular Assist Device Therapy”
  3. Monica Mukherjee, MD cardiology fellow and Jannet Lewis, MD Professor for “Strain Mapping in Pulmonary Hypertension Complicating Systemic Hypertension Using Speckle Tracking Analysis of Left and Right Ventricular Function.”
