WASHINGTON (July 29, 2014) — The George Washington University (GW) is now accepting applications for a new, online graduate degree program in emergency medical services (EMS) leadership for the fall 2014 term.
“We’re proud to launch the first program in the country specifically focused on EMS leadership,” says Attila Hertelendy, Ph.D., program director for emergency health services at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. “This online program takes full advantage of our presence in Washington, D.C., at the center of health care and policy. We connect remote students to industry leaders here and beyond while preparing them with the most current, necessary skills to enact changes across increasingly integrated health care sectors and advance into senior leadership roles.”
Opportunities are emerging to lead EMS agencies from their current, single location configurations into integrated regional health care systems. The online master’s program from GW prepares students to direct change to current operations and anticipate future models of pre-hospital health care delivery systems.
The program is led by top educators who are experts in their field, including the EMS World Conference’s Educator of the Year, Robert Ditch, M.S., Ed.D. Ditch is an adjunct assistant professor in the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, with over 40 years of EMS experience, including 32 years in the Air Force Medical Service.
This online program gives students flexibility to maintain their personal and professional commitments, while gaining access to the faculty, expert mentors and national agencies with close affiliations to GW.
