The EmeraldPlanet - Challenges and Practical Benefits of Big Data and Cloud Computing in Fostering Global Sustainable Development

Raja Mazumder, Ph.D., associate professor of biochemistry and molecular medicine, appeared on The EmeraldPlanet to discuss a project he jointly leads known as the High-performance Integrated Virtual Environment (HIVE).

The HIVE Project is a specialized platform where the storage library and computational powerhouse are linked seamlessly. This environment provides web access for authorized users to deposit, retrieve, annotate, and compute on high-throughput sequencing data and analyze the outcomes using web-interface visual environments appropriately built in collaboration with research scientists and regulatory personnel.
