Karen Lewis, Ph.D., administrative director of the Clinical Learning and Simulation Skills Center at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, has been elected the next president of the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE). The international organization for professionals in the field of simulated and standardized patient methodology organization is dedicated to the professional growth and development of its members, advancement of simulated and standardized patient research and related scholarly activities, setting standards of practice, and fostering patient centered care. The President of ASPE is a two-year position served following the completion of the President-Elect term. The President is responsible for leading and contributing to the direction of the organization’s initiatives, long range strategic planning and oversight of all ASPE events and projects, and representing ASPE to the public and to the membership.
