Aligning as One GW

One GW Newsletter | Stethoscope making the letter 'O' of One GW

Dear GW Family,   From collaborating on groundbreaking, nationally televised research to introducing the next generation of healthcare professionals - together, the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, The GW Medical Faculty Associates, and the GW University Hospital, continue to accomplish profound achievements by working together.

Over the past several months, we have taken an in-depth look at the relationships between our GW medical entities and how we can use these strong ties to continue to enhance our organizations as we offer the highest quality care to the DC area.

Coming together for a stronger GW brand We are proud to have enjoyed a collaborative relationship - one that has enabled us to do great things when we are aligned with a common purpose. As we move forward, our aim is to further solidify the foundation already laid by taking important steps to bring the three GW organizations even closer. Closer alignment will allow us to better join our efforts and resources on key service lines and research opportunities resulting in a stronger GW brand that benefits all of us. Additionally, this new alignment and structure will empower our physicians to participate in our shared governance model, providing them with a more active role in decision making and planning for our future success.

Among the three entities, we are extremely fortunate to have the depth of expertise required for us to accomplish our primary goals:

1.  To offer our patients the most comprehensive and highest quality of care possible.

2.  To train the next generation of medical professionals using technically advanced clinical techniques and modalities taught by our internationally renowned faculty.

3. To advance biomedical, translational, and health services delivery research through innovation with the goal of improving patient outcomes.

Our One GW newsletter will be shared with you on a regular basis to keep you informed of our progress and work on these goals. Additionally all faculty, residents, students, and staff members of the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, the GW Medical Faculty Associates, and the GW University Hospital will be invited to attend a One GW Celebration - please stay tuned for details on that event.

We are one "GW" To our community, we are not known as separate entities, but rather as one "GW." This is who we are and we look forward to further embracing this one significant brand. The close working relationship of our three entities is part of our rich history and tradition of excellence in academics, research, and healing.

Enhancing the reputation and brand of our academic medical entity  helps us to define who we are, both internally and externally, and allows us to better connect with our patients and our community. We look forward to bringing together each of you as colleagues, partners, and resources. Please stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks and months.
