Research Interests

Dr. Talegawkar is a nutritional epidemiologist with expertise in dietary assessment methods in diverse populations. Her research focuses on examining the role of diet and other lifestyle factors on chronic disease risk in minority populations, and on age-related functional declines in older individuals. She examines the relationships between cardiovascular health with age-related declines in physical and cognitive function, and the study of dietary trajectories over the adult life course and their associations with physical function, disability, and mortality.
