Research Interests

Dr. Woodie's lab investigates how circadian rhythms are communicated between the brain and body with a special interest in how the neurobiology of food intake is affected by circadian disruption. Her lab uses surgical, genetic, and dietary rodent models to induce circadian desynchrony, disrupt nervous system signaling, and measure the metabolic outcomes arising from our treatments with the goal of discovering therapies for metabolic diseases exacerbated by chrono-disruption (i.e. jet lag and shift work).
