Research Interests

She studies environmental and occupational exposures influencing the risk of chronic diseases and cancer, including cancer of the lung, head and neck, skin, kidney, and brain. She focuses on exposures such as pesticides, heavy metals including arsenic, lead and cadmium, silica dust, asbestos, endotoxin, and metalworking fluids. Current projects focus on chronic kidney disease (CKD). She examines CKD in male sugarcane workers in Nicaragua, in Hispanic/Latino populations in the U.S., and in pesticide applicators and autoworkers in the U.S.
