The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences salutes the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an American civil rights leader. Through the utilization of non-violent civic activism, Dr. King, Jr. successfully advocated against human rights issues such as economic inequality and racial injustice. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is best remembered for his “I Have a Dream” speech delivered during the 1963 March on Washington. The GW SMHS commits to “Advancing The Dream” by embracing the challenge of eliminating health disparities and transforming health care to enrich and improve the lives of those we serve. This year our guest lecturer is Dr. LJ Punch, Trauma Surgeon and Community Advocate.

How will you “Advance The Dream?”…
