Description

Didactic Anatomy 501 is an interdisciplinary course incorporating the major anatomical subjects, i.e., gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, embryology, and neurobiology. The student shall design their own program of study in conjunction with the faculty by selecting a topic that addresses two of the four anatomical subjects. Each program will be done under the direction of K. Johnson. A PowerPoint presentation, submitted electronically, is required as part of the evaluation. After deciding on the residency program to which the student will apply, the student will consult with Dr. Johnson to design their PowerPoint project.

Course Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Analyze anatomy subdisciplines including gross anatomy, histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy as they relate to selected specialty.
  2. Apply clinical information around epidemiology of disease, signs and symptoms of disease, treatment of disease, and outcomes of treatments to selected specialty.
  3. Design a presentation demonstrating application of anatomical and clinical analysis to selected specialty.
