The Post-Baccalaureate academic enhancer GCATS program has established a linkage with the George Washington University Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program. Only highly qualified GCATS students can apply to the linkage program upon nomination from the GCATS director. As of 2019, the minimum GPA is a 3.6 and student has not taken the MCAT upon admission to the GCATS program. The application process is initiated early in the fall semester of GCATS enrollment. Final acceptance to medical school through the linkage program is contingent upon multiple requirements, including a high level of achievement in undergraduate and post-baccalaureate academics, good standing in the GCATS program, and the MCAT exam. If admitted, GCATS students will receive acceptance to the GW SMHS M.D. program for the class that matriculates in the following August.
For those interested in the linkage program, more information will be available after admission to the GCATS program.
