2015 Urgent Matters Annual Meeting Recap
Urgent Matters hosted our annual meeting at the American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly on October 25, 2015. This year, the meeting focused on "Increasing Value in the Emergency Department: Innovations to Improve Cost and Quality."The half-day meeting covered freestanding emergency departments, the future of emergency response, innovations in acute care and much more. The 2015 Emergency Care Innovation of the Year Award was presented to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center team, who developed the Community Based-Care Mobile Health Paramedic/Mobile Integrated Health program. The Emergency Care Innovation of the Year Award provides an opportunity for multidisciplinary teams to be acknowledged for cutting-edge innovations in emergency care. The team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania developed the Community Based Care-Mobile Health Paramedic/Mobile Integrated Health program to provide coordinated care to high utilizers of the emergency department, medically complex patients and patients diagnosed with heart failure.
