The Department of Genomics and Precision Medicine (formerly the Department of Integrative Systems Biology) is a basic science department within the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS).
The 35 primary faculty of the Department are located at Children’s National Health System, within the Research Center for Genetic Medicine. About half of faculty are physician/scientists. Faculty come from many clinical and basic research subdisciplines, forming a synergistic group that shares the focus of improving the health of children in the D.C. region, and worldwide.
Faculty within the Department of Genomics and Precision Medicine work closely with other Departments at GW SMHS, and other Centers at Children's National Health System. Prospective Ph.D. candidates are encouraged to apply to the GWIBS program, and the Systems Biology concentration within the Molecular Medicine track.
