BSHS in Clinical Operations and Healthcare Management

The Clinical Operations and Healthcare Management program (COHM) focuses on developing future healthcare leaders through cutting-edge courses in healthcare leadership, quality improvement, strategic planning, policy, finance, operations, human resources, marketing, and health informatics. The COHM curriculum is aligned with the curriculum standards required by the National Center on Health Leadership (NCHL), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and Quality Matters (QM).

Admission/Eligibility Requirements

  • Completion of an applicable associate degree from a partner community college.
  • Graduated with a cumulative GPA in the applicable associate degree of 2.75 or greater.
  • Completed each transferable coursework with a grade of C or higher. If a course is repeated, only the higher grade will count.
  • Completed GW application process

6 credits in English composition

Composition I and Composition II.

3 credits in critical thinking in humanities

Art theory/history, literature, religion, ethics, history, foreign language, etc.

3 credits in quantitative reasoning college math (college algebra, statistics, or higher)

College algebra, precalculus, calculus, statistics, etc.

6 credits (2 courses) in social sciences

Sociology, psychology, economics, anthropology, criminology, government, etc.

4 credits of scientific reasoning, natural or physical science with lab

Biology, Chemistry, Life Science, Biotechnology, etc.
