Amy Stuck, PhD, RN

Amy Stuck, PhD, RNAmy Stuck is Senior Director, Value-based Acute Care and a health services researcher at the West Health Institute, a non-profit medical research organization focused on senior-specific healthcare delivery innovations to lower the cost of healthcare and enable successful aging in place. 

Amy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Portland, her master’s degree in Nursing Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with an emphasis on hospital acquired infections, and a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of San Diego with a focus on ICU Delirium. She completed post-doctoral studies in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, San Diego studying healthcare utilization prior to deaths by suicide and unintentional lethal opioid overdoses. 

Amy’s current fields of study include senior-focused emergency care, home and community-based alternatives to hospitalization, value-based care in Medicare and accountable care organizations. 

Amy has over 30 years’ experience in Acute and Critical Care nursing, quality improvement, hospital leadership and nursing education.

Andrew Meltzer, MD

Andrew C. Meltzer is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at George Washington University whose research focuses on the use of novel bedside diagnostics and therapeutics to identify, understand and care for patients with emergency conditions with a focus on gastrointestinal emergencies. Dr. Meltzer is a well-published author and he is an active lecturer and educator. He research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and medical industry.

Dr. Meltzer attended medical school at the SUNY Downstate School of Medicine in New York City, completed his residency and fellowship training in emergency medicine and clinical research at the University of Maryland Department of Emergency Medicine and Shock Trauma Center, and serves as Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He is also the director of Urgent Matters, a dissemination vehicle for strategies on emergency department (ED) patient flow and quality.

In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Dr. Meltzer has served in a leadership role for several successful healthcare tech startups. Specifically, Dr. Meltzer serves as Chief Medical Information Officer for Babyscripts, a digital health tool to transform pregnancy care and served as Chief Medical Officer for OpenBeds, an online platform for substance use disorder treatment.

Alexandra Cronin, MPH

Alexandra Cronin, MPHAlexandrea Cronin is a Telehealth Research Coordinator for the West Health Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan medical research organization dedicated to enabling seniors to successfully age and lowering the cost of healthcare.

Alex completed her Master of Public health degree at California State University San Marcos with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Education and her Bachelor of Science from University of California San Diego in Biochemistry with an emphasis in Chemistry.

Alex’s current focus is in health services and implementation research in a variety of settings and applications.
