CASS has completed the upgrades to all of the podium computers and Himmelfarb computer labs.  Below is a brief review of the changes that were made.  Please let us know if you have any questions and we will be happy to answer them.

Turning Point software was completely removed from all podiums.  This means that all classrooms must use PollEverywhere for in-class polling and active learning activities.  For more information on Poll Everywhere please review this lib guide: https://guides.himmelfarb.gwu.edu/polleverywhere. Panopto was upgraded to the latest 5.0 version.  There was a major overhaul of the look and feel of the software to match the new “metro” style provided by Office 2016 and Windows 10.  There is also a new feature that captures the computer audio to provide cleaner recordings of embedded videos.  For more information on Panopto please review this lib guide: https://cfe.smhs.gwu.edu/panopto. Office was upgraded to version 2016.  There was a major overhaul of the look and feel of the software to match the new “metro” style provided by Windows 10.  This version should support all files created with previous versions of Microsoft Office as well as all videos embedded into PowerPoint presentation.  Microsoft has provided several handy “QuickStart” guides to help you with the transition to the latest version.  The Poll Everywhere plug-in is still included in this latest version and has been tested and verified by our technicians.
