Linkage Program

Pre-MD/DO Track

The Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine Certificate program has established a linkage with the George Washington University Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program. The linkage program enables highly qualified Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine students with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.6 to apply early in the fall semester and, if admitted to the linkage, allows them to move straight from the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine Certificate program to GW's M.D. program, thereby skipping the glide year. Acceptance to medical school through the linkage program is contingent upon multiple requirements, including a high level of achievement in academics and on the MCAT exam.

Pre-PA Track

The Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine Certificate program has established a linkage with the George Washington University Physician Assistant (PA) program. The linkage program enables highly qualified Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine students with at least 1000 hours of direct patient care experience and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.5 to apply in the fall semester of the program to GW's Physician Assistant program. If admitted to the linkage, students will move straight from the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medicine Certificate program to GW's PA program, thereby skipping the glide year. Acceptance to the PA program through the linkage program is contingent upon multiple requirements, including high achievement on the GRE test and maintenance of a minimum GPA throughout the PBPM program.

Applicants interested in either linkage program should contact the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-medicine Program office.
